• A jack
• A lug wrench
• Your spare tire or new tires
• Your owner’s manual

• Move somewhere safe if you’re on the side of the road, then turn your hazard lights on.

• Put the parking brake on and put the wheel wedges under the tires you aren’t changing.

• Remove the hubcap from the tire and loosen the lug nuts.

• Raise the vehicle with the jack and take the lug nuts off.

• Remove the original tire and put the new or spare tire in its place.

• Tighten the lug nuts by hand, then put the vehicle back on the ground.

• Finish tightening the lug nuts once the vehicle is safely stable on all four tires.

If you put on a spare tire, make sure to get a new tire as soon as possible! Spares aren’t meant to last for more than 50 miles, and you shouldn’t go more than 50 mph when one is on your vehicle.
